The Sea Chanters is the United States Navy's official chorus and performs a variety of music including traditional choral music, sea chanteys, patriotic fare, opera, Broadway, and contemporary music. Based in Washington, D.C., the Sea Chanters perform for the President, Vice President, and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries. In addition to national tours and concerts in the Washington area, the Sea Chanters can frequently be found at the center of our most important national events, at the White House and U.S. Capitol, as well as at NFL and other professional sporting events.
Starting salary for a new member of the U.S. Navy Band is $67,842-$70,326, plus 30 days paid leave annually and full benefits for members and dependents. Members may also be eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program (up to $65,000). Those selected for the U.S. Navy Band are advanced to the paygrade of E-6 (musician first class) following recruit training, under a contract for permanent duty with the U.S. Navy Band.
