If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Artistic Director to schedule an audition time.
The audition will include the following, in this order:
1. A two- to three-minute accompanied solo of your choice (no Broadway or popular selections). Choose something that best showcases your vocal and musical abilities.
3. Sight reading
4. Prepared excerpts:
"His Yoke is Easy" from Handel's Messiah (the opening four bars of your respective voice part, tempo: quarter note=100).
"Lacrimosa" from Mozart's Requiem (the opening six bars of your respective voice part, tempo: dotted quarter note=40).
The audition panel will consist of the artistic director and accompanist, and may include select section leaders and board members.
There are three tiers of singer participation: the chamber choir, the symphonic choir and the adult treble choir. The chamber choir is a select group of singers that perform the subscription concerts. The symphonic choir is a larger group of singers that perform concerts with the Mid-Columbia Symphony and other regional orchestras. All singers accepted into the organization are invited to participate in the symphonic choir. Symphonic choir singers may re-audition at any time to request participation in the chamber choir. Some members of the symphonic choir may be called on as alternates for the chamber choir. The adult treble choir is open to sopranos and altos who are auditioned members of the symphonic choir.
