This is the story of a single father and a trans teenage boy learning to communicate. In a series of activities, we notice that Alex and his father, Tom, go through life just like roommates, barely acknowledging each other's presence. In this first part everything is told from Alex's perspective: Friday: Alex comes home from school and heads straight to his bedroom. He wears the girl version of his school uniform. They eat dinner in silence hypnotized by the television. Alex sneaks out of his bedroom in the middle of the night. He is dressed a bit more masculine. SATURDAY: In the morning Alex wakes up trying to hide his hangover. Alex arrives home with a bag from the drug store. His father asks what's in it but Alex ignores him. SUNDAY: Alex looks at the dress laid out on the couch. Alex comes out of the shower and analyses his body in the mirror. Out of the drug store bag he takes out a long elastic bandage wrap.The door of the bathroom opens---In the same exact series of activities, every is seen again, from the perspective of Tom, Alex's father: Friday: Tom, in the kitchen, hears Alex come in but before he can get a word in, Alex heads to his room. They eat dinner in silence hypnotized by the television. Tom sleeps awake in his bed, the right side is still untouched with a picture of his wife. Wide awake, he hears Alex sneak out and head to the window to watch him leave. SATURDAY: In the morning, Tom notices Alex's hangover. Through the loose sleeveless pajama shirt, he notices bruising around Alex's ribs. He doesn't say anything. Tom notices Alex arrive home with a bag from the drug store. Worried he asks but gets no response. SUNDAY: Tom puts his gold cross for church and gets dressed all nice. Afraid they will be late for church, he tries to hurry Alex. Moments later, he barges into the bathroom and catches Alex binding his chest with a long elastic bandage wrap. Not knowing what to do, he immediately closes the door. In an intimate moment, Alex stands alone in the bathroom not knowing how to process the news. Tom sits in the kitchen doing the same thing, unsure what to think. Alex is scared, anxious. However, Tom stands up and goes to his closet. He takes some of his clothing out of wardrobe. When Alex finally finds the courage to sneak out of the bathroom and into his room, he finds his father's clothes where the dress once was.
