Audition Description

Two strangers in a strange land: Jennifer, feeling abandoned by her parents, chooses Ma to be her driver for the night. An unlikely friendship develops between these two foreigners who came and stayed in America for different reasons as they collectively mourn the loss of a home country -- a place they can no longer return to.

  • Role #1 - Ma

    Ma, old, conservative and working class, left home to find work in America at an early age. Stuck in the past, he's curious about the new generation of Chinese kids parachuted to America, with money and freedom he's never seen. He is avuncular, observant, pragmatic, isolated, and lonely. Must speak fluent Mandarin.
