What is the power of a moment? For seventy year old Arthur Hudson, it is everything. For decades, Arthur and his wife Elaine have lived on the outskirts of their small town, isolated from the rest of the world. Owner of the only drive in theater in town, Arthur closed its door years ago, when his wife was diagnosed with dementia. As the years have gone on, he has witnessed the slow loss of his true love, to the point where she no longer has any recollection of who he is. That is, except for one moment, Since he was a young boy, Arthur's life has revolved around the drive-in theater. Named "The Firmament" or "the place between heaven and earth", the drive in represents everything that Arthur holds dear. It was where he got his first job, it was where he and Elaine went on their first date. And now, it is the last thread allowing him to hold on to his past. Because, as he has discovered, every night, when he bring his wife to the drive in, and plays the film that they both watched together on their first date all those years ago... she remembers. If only for the briefest of moments. But for him, it is an eternity.
