Audition Description

Catch Your Eyes is a dramatic short that follows the conflict between a rising star Singer, and a sly Reporter intent on exposing her secrets to the world. Cornered near her vanity mirror in her dressing room, she hurriedly applies makeup to conceal the bruises and cuts that mark her face. All while the reporter probes her, anxiously waiting to catch her off guard and expose everything she's so carefully kept hidden.

  • Role #1 - The Singer

Passionate and driven, the Singer\'s found herself alone on her first ever solo tour. A classic Hollywood-style Beauty, she\'s fought through hell to get to where she is, and has become hardened and world weary in the process. But in spite of this, she\'s managed to maintain an unshakable positive attitude and untarnished public image. However, visibly injured and wounded from a past domestic incident, she finds herself in a vulnerable position when her private space is suddenly invaded by a reporter eager for an interview. Trapped in a corner, she will be forced to fight to protect the hidden truths that could destroy everything she\'s worked so hard to create.

New to this career, he acts confidently. However, beneath this facade he is secretly anxious, green and untested. In his fresh days as a celebrity journalist, he likes to think he's doing good for the world, exposing the truth for all to see. But though he presents himself as cordial and well intentioned, he is not unwilling to be sly and manipulative to get what he wants. However, the singer may prove to be a greater challenge for him than he originally thought.

I started on Explore Talent in March and immediately found my first audition for a voice over part. When I went for the audition, I didn't get the voice over...because they cast me for a supporting role. Next I self submitted to audition for a supporting role in a movie about a NY Crime Family Boss. I didn't get that part either...because they cast me as the LEAD!! Then I self submitted for a supporting role in another film and got that one. Yes, there have been others that I have submitted for but have either not gotten the call or had to turn down the audition due to conflicts (but that is a great feeling, when you can't do it- BECAUSE YOU ARE WORKING!!!) While these haven't been paid gigs, my resume has gone from basically nothing for the last 30 years to a nicely rounded experience grouping. As a result I now have 2 SAG Franchised agents to which I am signed. - Thanks for a great start Explore Talent!
