Casting Young Actress for Family-Friendly Film
Story: Twelve-year-old Rilla's life is thrown off-course when she starts receiving "cozy collectibles" in the mail on a monthly basis and must try as hard as she can to keep it all under wraps. Oh, did we say these cozy collectibles are actual living, breathing monsters? (Yeah, that's where the secrecy part comes in.)
We are shooting a non-union proof-of-concept teaser trailer to raise funding for a feature-length film based on the 90s children's book: Monster of the Month Club. (There is a chance we will go with some or all of the same actors for the feature if we can make it happen, but not guaranteed.)
The trailer will be under three minutes (most likely a lot under), but a variety of scenes will be involved so the shoot will likely be about 1-2 days long.
Rilla is thin, of roughly average height, and has medium/short brown hair with side-swept bangs and full lips. Casual, mid-90s wardrobe. Please see reference image above. Rilla is a homeschooled kid who, like most, she wishes to fit in more with her peers. She lives in the attic of a Victorian house bed and breakfast with her unconventional family.
The role will have dialogue, mainly speaking to stuffed animals, and some voice over. Should be comfortable talking to non-existent "monsters" that will be added later as CGI as well as possibly interacting with a couple adult characters (simple dialogue). Shooting will mostly take place in a rented bed and breakfast with a few exterior shots. Need to be able to possibly lift about 10 pounds at times.
