Audition Description

A retired professional athlete, Jack, has beaten his demons and now lives a seemingly idyllic life. When his tyrannical father resurfaces after many years, Jack is forced to once again look backwards and face his demons one final time.

This low budget film looks at the pressures that exist within professional sport - particularly those that can build between young athletes and players, and how that can affect the mental and health of all involved.

    Jack is a retired professional athlete. His career reached the highest highs but also suffered the lowest of lows - brought on by various, crippling addictions. He is a proud man, a loving husband and father who has finally found peace. Until now.

    Old fashioned, a real mans man, harsh and seemingly unloving. His relationship with his son is a complicated one - affected by his own failings and a difficult past, but deep down he only ever wanted the best for Jack. The character will be portrayed during different times of his life by the same actor ideally . We will be looking for someone who has natural gravitas, and the correct physical appearance to be 'aged up' for the older version of the character. In terms of the applicants, we are open to looking at many differing ages to find the right performer.
