Developmental Editor for Avon A Imprint at HarperCollins

Avon is currently seeking a Developmental Editor to develop commercial ideas and edit manuscripts for the Avon A imprint. For this role, the emphasis is on developing original content and editing manuscripts rather than seeking agent submissions. The editor will evaluate, edit, and develop commercial projects for the Avon A imprint, brainstorm ideas for new projects and reaches out to authors to write them, and negotiate contracts. They will contribute to and participate in short and long term development and growth of the publishing program, manage and coordinate editorial production and publication schedules, oversee fact sheet, jacket and catalog copy, and review marketing and publicity materials. The role also involves conducting and analyzing sales research, and developing and maintaining strong and extensive agent and author relationships.
