Negotiating rush rates
Ensure you are compensated fairly when productions call you in last minute.
Rush gigs justify premium pay because they demand instant availability. Research standard day rates for your market and add a rush multiplier—often 1.5x or higher—before accepting. Confirm overtime, travel allowances, and usage terms in writing, and clarify whether the production will provide wardrobes or reimbursable costs. Being transparent and confident shows you value your time and helps the industry maintain fair compensation standards.
