Decades after Ryan Reynold’s fictional family moved into the haunted house, another family is about to experience the horrific nightmare that will unfold during their occupancy in the famous Amityville house in 112 Ocean Avenue.
The trailer features a small family of four that has taken occupancy in the said home due to its accessibility to one of the best neurological centers in New York. With one of the children immobile, a series of hauntings will eventually reveal the dark secret that the house is harboring.
Based on a book written by Jay Anson and published in 1977, it chronicles the real life experience of the Lutz family who occupied the haunted house during the period of a mere 28 days. The book inevitably describes the series of haunting so horrific that led the family to abandon the house in less than a month. The house itself had a horrendous past from its previous occupants the DeFeo family who suffered a terrible fate from none other than the patriarch Ronald de Feo Jr. who killed his own family claiming that “voices” told him to do so.
The first ever Amityville film was released on in 1979 starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder.
Amityville: The Awakening is slated for release on January 2015 and is directed by Franck Khalfuon.
