Billboard is one of the first to report on the long-awaited announcement of the musical lineup at the Firefly Music Festival in June.
This will be the third year of this festival. It started in June of 2012 and was produced by Red Frog Events, who is still at the helm. It has already become one of the most celebrated and highly anticipated musical venues in the US and worldwide. It is held every year at the 154-acre Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware. It is an gargantuan, four-stage outdoor Woodstock-type event and it attracts an enormous crowd that has grown each year. Besides the continuous concerts, there are numerous other attractions and activities that the crowd can enjoy. It’s also an ideal place for aspiring musicians to network and look for musician jobs and singing jobs.
Naturally, the one burning question on everyone’s mind each year concerning Firefly is: Who is playing?! This year, June 12-22, 2014, the lineup is sure no let-down. Outkast has reunited and they are scheduled to play as part of a long festival tour planned for this year. The Foo Fighters and Jack Johnson are headlining the event. Others include Weezer, ZiggyMarley, Chance the Rapper, and American Authors. A video announcing the entire festival lineup, and a full listing of them, can be found here.
Firefly has grown steadily each year, and shows no sign of stopping. We hope to see you all there.
