Universal Pictures’ has released the trailer for their new horror-thriller film, Unfriended.
Formerly called, Cybernatural, Unfriended, tells the story of a teenager and her friends as they are stalked by an unseen entity, who seeks vengeance for a shaming video that pushed her to commit suicide a year after.
Here is the official synopsis of the film:
“While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate, who killed herself exactly one year ago. At first they think it’s a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends’ darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something from beyond this world, something that wants them dead. Told entirely from a young girl’s computer desktop, Unfriended redefines found footage for a new generation of teens.”
The film, starring Shelley Hennig as Blaire, Renee Olstead as Jess, Jacob Wysocki as Ken, Courtney Halverson as Val, William Peltz as Adam, Heather Sossaman as Laura, Matthew Bohrer as Matt, Moses Jacob Storm as Mitch and Mickey River as Chatroulette Stoner, already had its world premiere at the Fantasia Festival on July 20, 2014. It won as the Most Innovative Film of 2014.
Unfriended, directed by Levan Gabriadze, opens in theaters on April 17, 2015.
