Sammi Mccombs's Modeling Jobs, Acting Auditions and Additional Experience

About Me: Hi, my name is Samantha, but my friends call me Sammi. I'm 5 feet tall, pretty short. But what I lack in height, I make up for in personality. I'm very easy to get along with and people say that I'm one of the nicest girls they know, especially for my age. I'm often full of energy, but I know how to keep it under control. I take critique and direction very well. I love being in front of the camera; my mom says I have since I was little. I used to pretend to take pictures of myself with my hands and say "keys!". That was the closest I could get to "cheese". I also love being outdoors, nature really inspires me when I'm surrounded by it.

I have been involved with school productions since I was in 6th grade. I didn’t get a role then, so I was the costume committee chair. From 7th grade on, I have placed a role in each show. Now in 9th grade, I am in 2 musicals. Aladdin Jr. and Little Women. I have a strong passion for acting and modeling. The best feeling is getting completely submerged into a character. You lose yourself and become someone else.

Aside from theater, I am very involved with music. I have been playing the flute since 6th grade and this year I am playing piccolo along with flute. For Christmas I got a guitar and fell in love as soon as I saw it. Immediately I started to teach myself how to play using just a chord chart and ultimateguitar.com. That’s where I would get the "notes" to the songs. I printed that out and taught myself different songs. I have also started to learn piano, but I don’t have much time to sit down and play.

I started gymnastics when I was 2 and I did it all the way up to this past summer. I did 3 years of competitive team, but I sprained my ankle 4 times. It was very devastating and it made me realize that my ankles just weren't meant for the intensity of gymnastics, so I stopped training last summer. I have been to physical therapy 3 times, and I know that is something that I want to do when I get out of college. I'm planning on shadowing some of the therapists at the local children's hospital over the summer to get experience from the other side. When I stopped doing gymnastics, I wasn’t ready to leave the gym yet. So now I am volunteering as a tots' coach. Tots are kids between the ages of 2 and 6. It’s a lot of fun and I hope that someday it can turn into a job. I grew up around kids of all ages. My grandma runs a daycare center at her house and my family lived with her for while. I'm using my past injuries and mistakes to make a new me and help children at the same time.
