Name: Jamar "Romance" Harris Age: 24 Home town: Omaha, Ne Bio: Jamar "Romance" Harris has always had a knack for making music. At age five, this remarkable performer penned his first song by reciting a rap he'd written in his living room. "I didn't know how to sing yet," he recalls. " But I did it and when I seen the faces of my family and friends I knew that this was something i wanted to do." This first sign of talent provoked his grandma, Belinda, to enroll Jamar in the local church chior at King Salomon Baptist Church that she directed. "I started when I was eight," says the Omaha native, who took vocal lessons, hip hop dance with his friend and cousin, Norman "Boogie" Thomas and Jarvas Newman. Jamar remained a part of the Chior for several years but then soon departed to persue other interests. While dancing was temporarily put aside, it didn't take long for the budding star's peers to notice his powerful pipes. "In 7th grade, my cousin, my friend, and I sang Donnell Jones song, " Where I Wanna Be in the school talent show," he says. "I was really nervous and I didn't want to do it. But, when we were done, everybody was coming up to me saying things like, 'You were great!' It made me really confident and I liked the attention," he laughs. These days, Jamar's unique style and voice is attracting an even wider fan base. Jamar always rises to the occasion. For example, he always on point with his dance steps and he loves to work when he comes to the studio. "Sometimes you got to make him stop, like take his pen and paper from him," say's his father Furman Finger. "I love him though and he's a great influence on his family!" "
