Mike Barnes's Modeling Jobs, Acting Auditions and Additional Experience

About Me: My name is Michael Jamal Barnes and I am an aspiring model and actor. In addition to modeling and acting I am pursuing a graduate degree in political science at George Mason University. If I had to describe myself in one word, that word would be "overcomer". Whatever goal I set for myself--no matter the difficulty--I find a way to overcome any obstacle to achieve that goal. For instance, the first twenty years of my life I was a shy, timid, skinny (140lb) kid with massive self-esteem issues. By age twenty I had decided that I would no long tolerate that existence. I saw a television commercial featuring L.L. Cool J and decided that I wanted to be just like him--grandiose endeavor indeed! Hours upon hours I researched how to transform by body and personality. I found the information and immediately began applying it. During this "application" period a medical doctor "informed" me that it was genetically impossible for me to gain the muscle that I desired--without the aid of steroids. I could have cared less about his advice and medical degree. I knew what I wanted. Come hell or high water I knew I would eventually achieve it. Within ninety-five days, I gained thirty pounds of muscle and completely transformed my physique--without the use of steroids. I want to be an inspiration to anyone who desires to improve their life. Also, I strive to improve myself in every aspect possible, daily. My goal is not to be "better" than everyone, but to be the very best version of "me" possible. I want to be a better person than I was yesterday, in all facets of life.
