Creative Director and Co-Founder of GiftedDetroit and Foster C.I.D.S. Lydia Ballard, born as Shanna Marie Lovejoy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She moved to Detroit and started a life on her own once she turned seventeen. She has dabbled in poetry and sketching since she was ten years old. She is currently working on a novel titled "Trust is a Fool's Suicide" due to be published in January 2013. Lydia has acted in a few plays and performed her poetry on a few stages. Lydia Ballard also founded the nonprofit Foster C.I.D.S. which she believe's is her God given mission. FosterC.I.D.S. primary goal is to foster character, independence, determination, and strength in our foster children with a secondary goal of raising public awareness to the issues/abuse in the foster care system as she spent seven years raised in the system. Lydia is the mother of a gorgeous 2 year old daugter named Neriah which means light of the Lord and she is the light of her world. Lydia's a very animated and bubblly person with a great deal of strength. She has an imaginative mind that needs to shine. She encourages all creative expressionists to let it out!!!
