About Me:
My name is Jonathan Drake Hathorne but I go by the stage name of Jon Drake. I was born in Hattiesburg, MS where I trained in gymnastics, dance and theater.
I graduated from High school and then left to study and train in Europe. I attended the Vienna Staats Opera School in Vienna, Austria and then finished my training at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Germany.
I stayed in Germany and worked at Dusseldorf Ballet for two years before returning to the United States. It was in Germany where I was able to do some modeling for Hugo Boss. Also living in Germany allowed me to learn German, Spanish and some Russian.
I have had the opportunity to travel and work in China, Russia and Venzuela. I also have been involved in performances in Switzerland, Austria and Russia.
My intetrests are varied and I have even taught myself to play the guitar. I enjoy club dancing, traveling, bicycle riding, playing pool, skiing and sports.
I am a freelance artist and am available for most jobs. I am living in New York City now so travel is not a problem.

Having finished the North American tour of West Side Story in the part of "Action" I have returned to NYC where I freelance and continue to study acting and take voice lessons.
I have previously worked in the theater as a dancer for 8 years. In that time I have also been involved in dramas and musicals. I have roles to my credit in "Murder of Lidice", "Insanity of Mary Girard". "Frumpled Fairy Tales", and "West Side Story"
I have choreographic experience with pieces performed in competitions, performing art schools, galas and ballet companies.
I have done modeling for Hugo Boss in Germany, promotional modeling in Portland, OR and other local venues in Hattiesburg, MS
I sing, dance(many styles),act and tumble. I can speak other languages (German, Spanish, Russian).
I was classically trained in Europe at John Cranko and Vienna Staats Opera Ballet School. I have also trained with Kirov Academy, ABT, Vail International Festival and Virginia School of the Arts.
I have worked for Deutsch Oper am Rhein,Oregon Ballet Theater, BalletMet, Ballet Idaho, Oklahoma Ballet and Atlantic Southeast Ballet.

Dancer background: I received my classical training from Henry Danton at Pine Belt Ballet Company. I trained during the summer at American Ballet Theater, Kirov Academy, VSA, and Vail Summer Festival. I went to Europe on scholarship to train at the Vienna Staats Opera Ballet School and continued my training at the John Cranko Schule under Pytor Pestov, former Bolshoi Ballet Master. My first employment was with Dusseldorf Ballet in corp but performed some solos. After two years I came back to America as a soloist for Atlantic Southeast and have now been a principle with Oregon Ballet Theater, BalletMet, Ballet Idaho/Eugene Ballet and Ballet Oklahoma. I have joined the West Side Story tour where I continue to dance as well as act and sing. I had previously been in West Side Story in Germany in a leading part. My choreography has been performed in Europe and in America. I have done pieces for preprofessional schools, galas, professional companies and international competitions. Being a guest artist and teacher is something I have done in the past and enjoy. It provides me with the chance to see and be a part of the dance life of young dancers as they start out their quest of a dance career.
Influences: the greatest tow influence on my life were Henry Danton and Pytor Pestov. Both men were from an era when dancing, especially ballet, was graceful, beautiful and told a story through movement. Their knowledge is priceless and their ability to transfer that knowledge into another persons body is an amazing talent. I have learned so much nad had the wonderful experience of being around two great teachers and men. They have left a legacy that will remain for decades to come. I am also inspired by the great Russian dancers. These men and women had such focus, drive and passion for their trade. As dancers and artists they were able to transport us to another realm where movement and story became one. They did and still do it today through training and sacrifice for their art.

I am interested in music videos. guesting, another musical, commercials or print modeling.
I dance other genre, not ballet only. I have done modern, jazz, some tap, swing, club dancing, latin dancing. Although I can perform hip hop it is not my strongest genre. I am taking classes to improve my technique
