Puppeteer's assistant wanted.
Looking for a paid assistant, to help with some 'behind the scenes' work for a local puppeteer. Help needed includes (but not limited to): painting & drawing , designing, crafting & building, etc. I'm looking to create props, paint sets & backgrounds, design mechanisms to use in my shows, craft puppets, finish building the stage, etc. If you like to dabble in electronics, that's even better! Once I start doing shows, there may be some additional paid work available, on an 'as needed' basis for a crewmember, who would help set up before the show, break down afterwards, and possibly perform some special lighting, audio, or visual functions during the show itself. If you're interested in participating in the development and actualization of a live puppet theater, with an experienced puppeteer, then you might be just the person I'm looking for. I'm especially interested in an art student or artist who would be willing to do some specific types of artwork to help promote my shows. Having a helpful, friendly & patient nature is essential. I'd prefer a talented amateur, rather than a trained professional.
Please be serious about helping, and genuinely interested in puppeteering. This is NOT an apprenticeship though; I will NOT be teaching you how to be a puppeteer. Must be over 18, and available either in the mornings, evenings or weekends. You must also make a minimum three month commitment. If you can not, please refrain from applying.
