I was fortunate in that I remember a lot of the Motown originals because they were right there in the hood. I always appreciated the diversity and quality of the artists from that era. I started out singing in a group at the age of 5, taught myself to play the drums at age 10 and played in a band until I found myself on my own at 16 after my Gramdmother's death. I relocated to Los Angeles in 1983 so that I could raise my children in a better environment. I taught myself to play the keyboards by writing my own songs. With the development of midi and sampling it was easy to learn to mimic other instruments through keyboards. I am not a musician as I can't play anything that I didn't write and I'd have to go back and learn those parts! If I were to think when I write, I don't believe that anything would happen.

Established online in 1998 with the release of his debut CD entitled, You Make My Heart Sing, R&B Soul Crooner, Chivalry.

"Romantic, sensual moments in time," best describes what Chivalry brings to his genre of music which he considers to be "Smooth R&B." If you'd like to set a mood for love that's laid back yet provocative and even hopeful, then Chivalry is for you! If you like music that plays well in the background when you're at work in the office or around the house, Chivalry is for you! If you're in love, Chivalry will touch your heart!

The Bembry Entertainment Group

Founded in 1998 by David J. Bembry as a record label and launching pad for Smooth R&B Crooner, "Chivalry." Today the Bembry Entertainment Group is a multifaceted company that offers new independent music artists, provocative casual wear lines, (Boy Toy), business solutions, web development, internet marketing and other services. I have serveral talents and interests.

Being a single parent and dealing with teenagers and young adults takes its toll along with trying to deal with my Bembry Entertainment Group and of course my full-time job at LMU. I wouldn't have it any other way! There's never enough time and trying to balance everything is a trick at best. I guess it's just that I love people in general and my life affords me constant contact with heartfelt relationships with many people. Most of all my children. As a parent you're always monitoring where your children are at in life and how they can at least become stable adults with some level of security in life. In these times?!!!! It turns out that all that I can do is really keep them strong and motivated.

I'm a bit of a "What's Honorable" fanatic. Believe it or not, now I have 7 grandchildren! Thank God that no one would ever look at me and believe it! After having lived a bit, spent 20 years in a marriage and 12 years as a single parent, I find that I have not changed much. I still find hope in the idea of true love. Actually I found it in Italy already! : )Trying to get home to stay after my youngest gets through college!

Short Resume: I've released 7 Cds online since 1998 as Chivalry and I'm currently working on new projects with 3 of my sons who are also individual Hip Hop artists. I've had a couple of publishing contracts and material used for HBO's Actual Autopsy with Dr. Michael Baden. Currently I'm being included in American Bandstands initial release under it's record label. 8/12
