MTM is holding auditions for the roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker for their 2014 Wisconsin premiere of Bonnie & Clyde.
At this time, we are only auditioning for the two leads. Additional auditions for all remaining supporting and featured roles will take place in spring of 2014.
You are STRONGLY encouraged to become familiar with the show before auditioning. The original cast recording is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. Bonnie & Clyde runs at the Bartell Theater, 113 E. Mifflin St., for five performances, July 18 - 26, 2014. Some preliminary music rehearsals, character work and publicity photos will be required before summer 2014, but they will be scheduled according to actor availability. Full rehearsals will begin in mid June, 2014. Some conflicts, within reason, can be tolerated. That said, these roles will be vocally and physically taxing, so please keep that in mind. These are paid roles.
Please note: For these roles, we are not looking for the standard, Hollywood good looking Bonnie and Clyde. This is not to say the couple should not be attractive. They both need to have rugged, natural sex appeal. However, in reality they were young, clumsy and incredibly relatable, which is part of what contributed to the countrys fascination with them. The most important component between the two is chemistry and a convincing sense that they have been fortunate enough to find each other in a world where no one else understood them. So if you dont look like Warren Beatty or Faye Dunaway, that will probably work to your advantage.
