About the play: Almost, Maine is a play about love and longing, friendship and isolation, melancholy and hope. The setting is a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter in the mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almosts residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. The nine short, and sometimes quirky, vignettes all have a fable-like quality and the sweet simplicity of stories being told around a New England campfire.
Audition Information: Come prepared to tell a personal story from your life (scary/embarrassing/1st crush/bad date?? etc.). 1-3 minutes long. This is a play about love. Looking for people who can be real and vulnerable on stage.
Strongly recommended: Read the play before you come. Scripts are available for purchase online, or can be borrowed for a few days from the theatre.
Please bring information about any scheduling commitments for November-January (holiday trips, etc.) to the auditions. We will hold a read-through in November with rehearsals starting around December 9.
