Almost, Maine by John Cariani
Auditions by appointment only.
On a cold, clear moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almosts residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.
Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken.
But the bruises heal, and the hearts mendalmostin this delightful midwinter nights dream.
Four actors are needed: two men and two women.
Each actor will play four or five different characters as indicated in the script. There are eight separate scenes, plus a prologue, interlogue, and epilogue.
Age range: 30s to 40s. Less interested in the actors ages and more interested in the actors ability.
There is a physical requirement for the actor playing MAN (Daniel) in Story of Hope and that is that he is either short or thin.
Accent: New England (but not caricature or exaggerated) which means, among other subtle shifts, the move from the usual rhotic US sound to a non rhotic sound. Accent will be required at the audition.
Please choose ONE of the following monologues to present. You dont have to learn it but you will have to understand it.
Audition will be made up of your monologue choice as well as reading from the play.

Got a role in a full length feature film! Just wanted to give a big "Thank You" to Explore Talent. My daughter Julia Hodgkins auditioned for a role in a full length feature film called Second Wind and got a co-supporting role in the film! We're presently in rehersals and will be filming in a couple of weeks. The experience has been amazing and so rewarding. Working with director, Daryl C. Sylva is awesome. If it weren't for Explore Talent, we wouldn't be here right now! We're very greatful for your service. Maria Hodgkins & Julia Hodgkins
