This production will be staged in a contemporary American setting.

Running August 15 - September 15, 2013
Rehearsal begins July 15, 2013
Most rehearsals will be 5-10pm.

Performances:
7:30pm Thursdays - Sundays; Labor Day Monday

All types and ethnicities encouraged.

Audition Requirements for all applicants:
One Shakespearean monologue up to 2 minutes in length, and one 1-minute dance, in your strongest style, either prepared or improvised. CD player or MP3 player hookup will be available. Please bring one headshot and resume.

She also has the most time to philosophize on the nature of love, maybe because she's not too busy actually being loved by anybody. Unlike Lysander, who speaks majestically of love (but in the specific contexts of history and poetry), Helena is prone to generalized statements. She dismisses love as a foolish child, but she isn't as delightful a character as As You Like It's Rosalind (who thinks the same thing). Why? Because love makes Helena a fool. It's hard to be sympathetic to her when she's so busy self-pitying all the time.
