By BILL MASON
"A Valley Stream woman was gagged, blindfolded, and bound hand and foot in her home Wednesday afternoon by robbers who never approached a grandmother and 6-month old baby who were also in the house, police said.
The surprised homeowner was in a bedroom on the second floor of her Locust Street home about 2:55 p.m., police said, when a man walked in, clamped a hand over her mouth and told her not to scream.
He then used duct tape to cover the woman's eyes and mouth, and to bind her hands and feet, police said.
That man, and at least one other man that she could hear, then ransacked the area and took cash and jewelry, police said. They had entered the house through an unlocked front door, Nassau detectives said.
The grandmother and infant were in a first floor room, police said, and were not approached by the robbers. The grandmother was unaware that a robbery was taking place, police said.
After the robbers fled, the woman was able to free herself, police said, and notified authorities. No one was injured during the robbery, police said."
Reenactments are based on actual events taken from testimonials and news report.
