Dream Williams has always been determined to succeed. Growing up in a lower middle class two parent Jersey City family was never as much as a challenge to her as it was to her friends. A good student, Dream went on to graduate at the top of her class before going on to Rutgers University to study finance. When Dream left for college she left behind her childhood best friend, Tasha. Tasha went straight into the workforce after high school and never had high aspirations because "People from here don't make it big"! Although there mentalities couldn't be more different Dream and Tasha were always best friends, Dream the reserved practical thinker and Tasha the wild child! While in school, Dream met Rodney (Roc) an aspiring rapper who was well known in Jersey but hadn't broke into the mainstream. After a few months of courting and a year and a half of dating Dream, Rodney was signed to a major recording contract. After much thought Dream dropped out of college and b ecame Rodney's road manager as he embarked on a world tour. After months of touring Rodney and Dream moved to New York and began living the high life. Expensive trips, high end fashion and expensive champagne became their lifestyle. While in New York Dream often neglected Tasha and the two eventually went from speaking everybody to every week and soon two years had passed since their last conversation. Dream's new friend Jennifer, was born and raised in Manhattan the daughter of a news anchor mother and a former NFL player turned sports analysis father. Jennifer, who is one year out of law school, works at a prestige New York Law firm. While living in New York Dream broke up with Roc after he cheated on her with a video vixen. Dream moved in with Jennifer and began dating a lawyer named Aaron who works at the law firm with Jennifer. Although Dream liked Aaron the two only dated for a year before her and Roc reconciled. During their year apart Roc lost a lot of money on bad investments and soon after his album flopped he was dropped by his label. Six months later he and Dream are forced to move from their NY Co-op back to Jersey City. The series picks up here. In the pilot Dream and Roc are just moving in and are working on their relationship and Roc's career. Dream is also contemplating her own future. Dream Williams - 29 year old from Jersey City in a long term relationship with Rodney Moore A.K.A Roc who she always knew but started dating in her first year of college. She dropped out and together the couple famously spent money and where part of hip-hop's in crowd. Burnt a lot of bridges while on top and after two flopped albums lavish spending and bad investing the couple is back in Jersey City. Dream's mother likes Roc bur her father never liked her boyfriend. Rodney Moore A.K.A Roc - 35 Everybody thinks his best days are behind him. He got dropped by his record label and blew all his money. He is now living in an apartment in Jersey City trying to get his career back on track.
