The North Carolina Symphony seeks a customer service professional to serve as a part-time Box Office Associate. An important member of the North Carolina Symphony (NCS) staff, the Box Office Associate reports to the Box Office Manager.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of one-year of experience in a box office setting, with demonstrable success in sales and customer service and in communication within a fast-paced office setting. Candidate will have the ability to multitask and have good organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail, as well as concise accuracy in managing cash and credit card transactions.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. A flexible schedule that involves statewide travel and evening and weekend work is required. Experience working in retail or phone sales preferred. Experience with any ticket system eg. Archtics and Ticketmaster preferred.
Part-time salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Employee will work 21 hours per week (1-2 evenings a week). Benefits include mileage reimbursement for statewide concert duty travel outside Triangle area and complimentary tickets to NCS performances.

Based in downtown Raleighs spectacular Meymandi Concert Hall at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts and an outdoor summer venue at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C., the Symphony performs about 60 concerts annually in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Cary metropolitan area with additional concerts performed in venues across the state.
